Terrorism fears in Karachi, SSU commandos deployed across the city.

KARACHI (Daily Pakistan Online): Commandos of Special Security Unit of Sindh Police have been deployed at eight sensitive places in the city in the wake of the recent failed terrorist attack on Pakistan Stock Exchange in Karachi.

DIG Maqsood Memon, Chief of Special Security Unit, Sindh Police, said that in the past, the SSU's Special Weapons and Tactics Team was stationed at the SSU Headquarters at Hassan Square in Karachi. Additional IG Karachi Ghulam Nabi Memon said that in order to make the security arrangements in the city foolproof after the recent failed terrorist attack in Karachi, it was necessary to increase the deployment points of special weapons and strategy teams i.e. SWAT commandos.

According to Maqsood Memon, these commandos have now been spread all over Karachi at the behest of the Karachi Police Chief. In that case, the duration of the commandos' arrival is to be minimized for immediate response. Maqsood Memon said that SSU commandos are equipped with modern weapons after special training in international style. SSU is the first ISO certified institution of police in the country which is based on international requirements and is equipped with modern weapons.
