Leading politician and former minister sentenced to 5 years in prison for abuse of power.

Ulan Bator (Daily Pakistan Online) Prominent Mongolian politician and former Minister of Labor and Social Protection Nyamtashier Nomtweibair has been sentenced to five years and five months in prison on charges of abuse of power.

According to local Mongolian media, former Minister Nyamtashier Nomtubayer has been accused of abusing his powers and giving privileges to others, including the order to implement 29 projects and programs under his purview as Minister of Labor and Social Security. He served as Minister of Labor and Social Security from 2016 to 2017. The former member of the ruling Mongolian People's Party recently ran as an independent candidate in the parliamentary elections but won his desired seat in the country's 76-seat parliament.
