KARACHI: The JIT report on the Baldia Town factory fire after Uzair Baloch has been released. This incident was terrorism.
According to the details, JIT report of Baldia Factory tragedy which consists of 27 pages. The report will be released by the Sindh government on Monday, July 6.
The JIT report said that the fire in Baldia Town factory was started due to non-payment of Rs 200 million. The extortion was demanded from the factory by MQM's Hamad Siddiqui and Rehman Bhola.
According to the report, an attempt was made to benefit the accused in the case and investigation of the incident. The terrorist act was first termed as murder in the FIR, then as an accident.
The initial investigation did not mention extortion anywhere in the FIR or investigation. The JIT has recommended withdrawing the previous FIR and registering a new case under the provisions of terrorism.
The Joint Investigation Team has recommended the names of Rehman Bhola, Hamad Siddiqui and Zubair Charia, Dr Abdul Sattar, Ali Hassan Qadri, Iqbal Adib Khanum and four unidentified persons in the FIR.
The report also recommended bringing back the fugitive accused from abroad, revoking the passports of all the accused and putting their names in the ECL.
In addition, the JIT report recommended providing protection to all witnesses to the incident and said that the 1,000-yard bungalow in Hyderabad, which was purchased from the factory owners for extortion, should be returned to the owners.
The JIT report also slammed the role of the police in the context of the incident, saying that the police had failed to investigate the high profile incident in the right direction. Reforms are needed to prevent future investigations into such incidents.
