In Russia, the governor was arrested outside his home

MOSCOW (Monitoring Desk) - Sergei Fergal, governor of Russia's eastern region of Khabarovsk, has been arrested. According to Al Jazeera, Sergei Fergal has been accused of killing several people. Russia's National Investigation Agency said in a statement that Sergei Ferguson had assassinated several businessmen between 2004 and 2005. He belonged to an organized group of criminals and called the killers of that group to kill people.

Sergei Ferguson carried out the killings in Khabarovsk and the neighboring region of Amur. Sergei was detained outside his home yesterday. The 50-year-old suspect has been transferred to the capital, Moscow, where he is being investigated and will be arraigned soon. According to the report, if the allegations against Sergei are proved to be true, he could be sentenced to life imprisonment.
