Police said Bashir Ahmed was killed in an attack on the CRPF by militants, and police rescued the child.

However, according to Bashir Ahmed's family, security forces shot Bashir Ahmed out of the car and then took pictures of the child sitting on his chest. Police and security forces deny this.
