Arshad Malik appointed PIA chief executive, approved by federal cabinet News: By Amin Tahir



ISLAMABAD: Arshad Malik has been appointed as the Chief Executive of PIA, a unique decision of the Federal Cabinet. According to reports, a meeting of the Federal Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan approved the appointment of Arshad Malik as the Chief Executive of PIA.

According to details, a meeting of the Federal Cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan in which the situation created due to political, economic and corona epidemic in the country including 16-point agenda was considered.

The federal cabinet approved the appointment of Arshad Malik as the chief executive of PIA and decided that Arshad Malik would remain the chief executive of PIA even after retirement. Air Marshal Arshad Malik will retire from Pakistan Air Force on July 12.
 
Sources said that Arshad Malik will be the chief executive on contract for the remaining period after retirement. He has been appointed as the chief executive of PIA for 3 years.

The meeting also gave a detailed briefing to the federal cabinet on the issue of pilots with dubious degrees. It was stated in the briefing that pilots with fake and dubious degrees have been grounded.

Sources said that the matter of amending the FATF Companies Act 2017 and the issue of extradition of Pakistani prisoner Syed Sharq Raza to the UK has been postponed.

It may be recalled that in the last meeting, the federal cabinet had again called for a detailed summary to take action against the pilots with fake licenses and degrees. The license revocation case has been put in the process but we will see more facts.
